1. Overview
PetCrib is committed to facilitating the best experience for both Owners and Hosts alike.
Having the appropriate insurance in place is an important part of this. As such, PetCrib has arranged an insurance policy detailed below, providing liability protection for Hosts, issued by QBE Insurance Australia Limited (QBE). This policy has been arranged by Intuitive Insurance Solutions (Intuitive).
Here you’ll find a summary of what the policy does and does not cover, as well as important information in the event of a claim.

2. Public & Products Liability
What this covers:
Public & Products Liability covers Hosts for your liability to third parties resulting from personal injury or property damage caused during the provision of pet minding services.
Cover is provided up to a limit of liability of AUD 20,000,000, subject to a AUD 250,000 sub-limit for Property in Your care, custody or control (e.g. Pets).
Examples of claims might be allegations of injury to pets, or damage to property caused whilst caring for the Owner’s pet.
This cover only applies when you are performing services whilst on a booking accepted through PetCrib.

In the event of a claim:

Take all reasonable steps following an occurrence to protect the person or property from any further injury or damage.

Obtain all details you can:
a. Of the incident;
b. Of the Third Party;
c. Of the witnesses.
Details (no matter how trivial they may seem at the time), are the most essential component of an incident report. In most instances, if the claim ever reaches a court of law, it may be several years down the track. Nobody will remember the specifics unless you write them down at the time of the incident.

In all cases, contact Intuitive by emailing info@intuitiveinsurance.au or calling +61 2 8326 0510 immediately for advice on how to handle the matter. Intuitive will verify the incident occurred during a booking via the PetCrib platform.

Similar to paying an ‘excess’, a deductible amount of AUD2,500 applies to each claim. This is the amount borne by you in the event of an action being brought against you.

Do not give any interview or make any statement to a loss adjuster or other person investigating any accident of damage unless such person is acting on behalf of QBE.

Forward all letters of demand, writs / summonses to Intuitive immediately you receive them.
3. Conditions of Cover
The following conditions apply:

The policy responds where you are held legally liable to a third party for death or injury, or loss or damage of property resulting from your negligence, including defence costs.

Cover only applies for pet services booked and paid for through PetCrib. It does not apply to services provided outside this platform.
